The Crew

Whether you’re an experienced skipper booking Corsair’s bareboat service, or a visitor who prefers the full experience of a guided tour, we’ll launch you on an excursion you’ll remember for many years to come.

The captain and crew of Corsair Charters have explored Prince William Sound for more than 10 years. Captain Dan and Moria Ureda enjoy sharing this legendary North Pacific wilderness they know so well.

You’ll be in good hands. Dan has skippered many vessels since his arrival in Valdez in 1989, logging hundreds of hours on the water. He’s had training and certification in all aspects of marine navigation and safety, and holds a multi-passenger vessel operator license from the U.S. Coast Guard.

Living year-round in Valdez, the Ureda family’s outings over the last decade have brought them face to face with the spectacular scenery and wildlife they’ll show their guests aboard the M/Y Denali. They’ve explored sheltered coves, camped on the beaches of Prince William Sound, followed whales for hours on end, and sailed into deep fjords where some of the world’s largest glaciers terminate.

If you like to fish, Dan and Moria know where to find world class salmon and halibut, and better yet how to cook them to perfection with their own family recipes.

Want to snap a photo of a sea otter, sea lion, or seals? Just bring plenty of film.

Always yearned to see a whale? With multi-day tours, your chances of seeing these magnificent marine mammals are high.

Dreamed of relaxing on a cushion of tundra in the sun, perhaps spotting a bear nearby? The Uredas know where to find pockets of nature’s paradise throughout the Sound. Come aboard with Dan and Moria Ureda for your own adventure--with a personal touch. Or explore on your own with a bareboat rental and Dan and Moria’s help in selecting a unique, custom itinerary in the Sound.
